Milo Brownies

Milo Brownies (For 9 servings)

200g butter (unsalted)

200g castor sugar

120g pastry flour

100g Milo powder

2g salt

3 small eggs

20ml Vanilla essence (Robson or Moirs)

For decoration

30g of Milo powder

1 tablespoon of Nutella paste

20g of white melted chocolate colored with green gel food coloring (optional)

Step 1: Weight and melt your butter in the microwave (normally it will take about 30 seconds to melt completely ). Once melted, add sugar and using your hand whisk, mix until all is combined.

Tip: No need for all the sugar to be dissolved in the butter ..

Step 2: Weight your flour, Milo powder and salt and mix them all together forming your dry ingredients mixture.

Step 3 : Add your dry ingredients mixture to your melted butter/ sugar mixture.

Step 4: Mix mix mix until you obtain a uniform "Milo-ish" mixture ...

Step 5: Add in eggs and vanilla essence and continue to mix until you obtain a smooth mixture. Your Milo brownie batter is now ready !

Hmmmmm the smell !!!

Step 6: Line a 20cm x 20 cm square baking mold with parchment paper (or you may also use a lightly greased non-stick baking pan ) and transfer your Milo brownie batter in same mold. Then bake in a preheated over at 175 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes or when a brochette or tooth pick comes out clean when inserted in the center !

Step 7: Out of Oven - Hot hot hot !

Step 8 : When your brownie has cooled completely, unmold the latter, remove the parchment paper if any and cut the four borders (thinly) like shown below (right).

Step 9: Spread a very thin layer of Nutella paste on the top with your favourite spatula !

Step 10: Sift some Milo powder on top as shown below. The Nutella paste will help the powder to adhere to the surface.

Step 11: Then use your pastry ruler and knife to trace cutting marks on your brownie. Ensure to obtain 3 rows and 3 columns (reasonable dimensions for easy cutting ..).

Step 12: Voiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiila !

Step 13: You can melt some white chocolate, color it with some green gel coloring, insert the mixture in a small piping bag and add some stripes for cuteness but this is optional, I actually just wanted to add something that will refer to the green color scheme of Milo !

Hmmmmmmm !

Packaging time !...

Remember to add all your love and heart ..
