Ingredients
400g multi-purpose flour
180g butter/margarine
140g grated cheese (+20g for decoration)
8g salt
50g sesame seeds
30ml water
Procedure
Step 1: Mix butter/margarine, flour, sesame seeds, grated cheese (140g) and salt until a uniform pale yellow color is obtained.
Step 2: Add the water then mix until you obtain a consistent non sticky final dough (you can mix with your hand or a robo mixer using the 'dough hook' accessory)
Tip: For the next step you may use a knife but I actually have a plastic ruler that I use especially for cooking/baking which really comes in handy when making sticks or any other linear shapes...
Step 3: Flatten your dough using your rolling pin (thickness about 1cm) and using your knife/ruler, cut sticks of about 6cm in length.
Step 4: Before placing your sticks on the baking tray, sprinkle some grated cheese on them and press gently so that they may adhere on the surface. The heat in the oven will do the rest.
Step 5: Repeat the same process (Step 2 to Step 4) until you are no more left with the cheese dough.
Step 6: Once completed, place your little baby cheese sticks in your preheated oven and cook for 15 minutes at 175 degrees celsius.
