Cat`s Grilled Turkey Drumsticks

Grilled Turkey Drumsticks (For 6 servings )


2 large (~800g each) Turkey Drumsticks (Yes, only two, Refer photo below )

5 tablespoons of Char Siu sauce - Refer photo step 6

2 tablespoons of powered onion - Refer photo step 1

2 teaspoons of powered ginger - Refer photo step 1

2 tablespoons of powered garlic - Refer photo step 1

Salt and pepper to taste

4 tablespoons of sunflower oil

Just so you know that 2 large turkey drumsticks will be sufficient for 6 persons ...



Step 1 : Place your drumsticks in a baking pan (do not remove the skin, turkey contains less fat than chicken) and prepare your spices, salt and pepper.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl add powered onion, powdered ginger, powdered garlic, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of pepper and 4 tablespoons of sunflower oil.

Step 3: Mix all together until a thick paste is formed then coat your turkey drumsticks as shown below !

Step 4: Cover (tightly) your baking pan containing your coated drumsticks with aluminium foil and bake (pre-heated oven) for 45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius .

Step 5: After 45 minutes baking... Hmmm the smell ... Remove your pan from the oven and remove the aluminium foil as well.

Step 6: Get your Char Siu sauce and your favourite silicon brush !

Step 7 : (@45 Minutes) Brush your drumsticks with a thick coat of Char Siu sauce, then add about 200ml of water in your pan just to re-hydrate the drumsticks during the final cooking (for that soft texture ).

Step 8: Add a small pinch of pepper and salt on the drumsticks then bake (uncovered and on 'Grill' mode) for 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Step 9: Drumsticks on grill mode in the oven ...

Step 10: After 15 minutes on grill mode, remove the pan from the oven.

Step 11: Brush a final coat of Char Siu sauce on your turkey drumsticks then bake (uncovered and on 'Grill' mode) for another 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Step 12: After another 15 minutes on grill mode ... Hmmmmmm ...

Dinner is ready !!!

Serve with salad and mashed potatoes !
